We created this test suite to allow
us to quickly evaluate the basic characteristics and

Middleware Tools
WebTV/MSNTV
Viewer - excellent tool for starting out on
iTV development. Emulates WebTV/MSNTV browser (very
similar to MSTV) on PC or Mac. We like to prototype
on this platform because there are real users with
whom we can test our work. Other tools include iTV
link generator and docs. Freely available for download.
AOLTV
Tools - Style Guide, docs, and sample code
for AOLTV platform. No emulator - use the platform
itself for testing. Freely available for download.
Liberate
TV Producer Tools - includes emulator, developer
guides, and some example code for Liberate's cable
platforms. Must join PopTV Developer Program (free)
to download.
Microsoft
TV Tools - includes emulator, docs, and other
tools for MSTV platforms. Must join Microsoft TV Developer
program (free) to download. Upper tiers of membership
($$$) offer additional tools, including Visual Studio.NET
and access to set-top boxes.
